11.00 Let’s get this party started!
Our hosts with the most, the marvellous Susie Sparkles and friends will guide us through the day, introducing our headline acts and workshops. She’ll also be introducing your messages, Dad jokes and more.
Dadstastic Day will open at 11:00 with Leeds Dads founder Errol plus special guests Councillor Fiona Venner and Mayor Eileen Taylor.

11.05 BOOMCHIKKABOOM
Boomchikkaboom are into their 8th year of baby raves with families across Leeds and beyond. We may not be able to party together in the same room for this year’s Dadstastic Day, but they’ll certainly make sure you’ve got your dancing shoes on at home!

11.15 Virtual Magic & Mind Reading Show
Award-winning magician Paul Fowler has performed to the stars! During lockdown he took his magic online and has been amazing audiences worldwide. Prepare to be astounded by his magical abilities.

11.30 Beatbox Masterclass with SK Shlomo
This is the man. SK Shlomo is a world record-breaking beatboxer who makes all kinds of music using just his mouth and a mic. Join this sonic superhero’s Zoom workshop and learn the skills to become a Superstar Beatboxer in a world of beats, rhymes and vibes, whether you’re aged 1 or 101!

11.45 Squishy Circuits workshop with Makertopia
Squishy Circuits uses specially conductive playdough to make simple electronic circuits. Connect the battery into the playdough and it will conduct the electricity like a wire! Because the voltage is so low, you can touch the playdough no problem. Can you switch the lights and buzzers on? How arty can you make the playdough? Each pack contains 2 different colours of playdough, 10 LED lights, a buzzer, and a battery pack.

The amazing DAZL (Dance Action Zone Leeds) Garden Groovers will run a workshop live from a DADSTASTIC street in Leeds. Addresses were pulled out a hat earlier this week, but don’t worry if your address wasn’t chosen because we’ll show it all live so you can join in too!

12.15 Fabulous Carnival Costume Collars with Valentina’s Collective Arts
Valentina’s Collective Arts is a visual arts company that specialises in the wonders of Carnival Arts. This year they will help us make spectacular Carnival Costume Collars which you can wear while showing off your amazing dance moves to your favourite carnival tunes. Be inspired by the world of carnival around us and using gems, glitter, glue and more. Where will your imagination and creativity take you?

12.30 Living Room Den Building with PlayExploreArts
Grab an umbrella, your duvet, clothes pegs, pots, pans and arm bands…. whatever you can find and prepare yourself for a living room adventure with Steph from PlayExploreArts. Let your imagination run wild as she helps you create the ultimate living room den to kick back in with a story and rhyme. Apologises to the grownups who tidy up afterwards, but we promise you a lot of fun!

12.45 Upcycle vinyl records into art with Zulu King Monk
Hip Hop Artist King Monk works with all ages and abilities, promoting wellbeing and mindfulness through art. King Monk will recycle old record vinyl into wall art, primed with spray paint and a Posca Pen. Partake in doodle line art to hang on your wall.

13.00 Songs with Grandad Leroy & Aunty Di Di
Husband and wife Leroy and Diane Johnson teamed up at the request of Chapeltown Children’s Centre where Diane works, to record some nursery rhymes for children whilst under lockdown. One thing led to another, they enjoyed performing as a duo, they decided to continue with the characters. They perform nursery rhymes, fun songs and lullabies. These two will have you moving, singing and dancing, whatever age you are. They’ll sing your socks off!

13.15 Tik Tok routine for Under 4’s with the Northern School of Contemporary Dance
Join Dance Artist Katy Hewison from the Learning & Participation Team at Northern School of Contemporary Dance for a specially designed Tik Tok dance workshop for the under 4s! She’ll start with a warmup before teaching a new dance where you can add your own twist! Please film your moves and share with us at @leedsdads to create a mega dance montage afterwards! You do not need Tik Tok to take part in this routine but if you choose to, have a read over the Safeguarding Guidelines
