The Black Lives Matter movement has shone a necessary light on the injustices, inequality and systemic racism that BAME people face in the UK. Leeds Dads stand in solidarity with Black Lives Matter Leeds.

With this gesture, our committee acknowledges that whilst our volunteers and members reflect the diverse culture of our city and we as an organisation are committed to inclusivity, it is necessary to continue to educate ourselves and our members in order to represent the needs of our community and take a more proactive stand against the challenges faced by racial inequality in Leeds.

Leeds Dads pledges to:

  • Work in honest, critical dialogue with BAME families in Leeds to listen, learn and ensure that their voices inform the work that we do.
  • Be accountable for our actions in the fight against racial inequality and work with our partner organisations to ensure that social justice, education, and addressing racial inequality in Leeds is at the centre of their work
  • Continue to educate ourselves and use our platform to educate our members on racial inequality
