We’re so blessed to have such dedicated Dads supporting us with fundraising events this Summer. In the last week we have had two big fundraising events – the Leeds Dads Runners and the Leeds Dads Rowers!

Leeds Dads Runners at Leeds 10K

On Saturday June 23rd, our wonderful Leeds Dads Road Runners blazed a yellow streak through Leeds City Centre by smashing the legendary Leeds 10K.

Thank you so much to Brendan, Simon, Bobak and Sam. They all achieved personal bests on the day and raised almost £400 for Leeds Dads in the process.

You can still sponsor them even though the race is over! Bobak ran whilst wearing a giant inflatable watermelon in the middle of June! Surely that has to be worth a couple of quid?

Leeds Dads Rowers at Leeds Waterfront Festival

On Saturday 29th June, our fantastic Leeds Dads Rowers entered the Leeds Dragon Boat Race at the Leeds Waterfront Festival at Leeds Dock. It was our first time and we not only came a highly respectable 7th place out of 27 boats, we also rowed three times up the River Aire.

Thank you so much to Colin, Olly, Simon, Kin, Leon, Hui, Chen, Josh, Greg, Jonny, Sam, David, Chung and Errol for churning it up in aid of Leeds Dads on a grey rainy day. Even though the race is over, you can still show your appreciation for them by sponsoring them.

Our next fundraising event will be the 3 Peaks Challenge on Sat 20 July. What is a 3 Peaks challenge?
Well our team will be getting up at dawn to climb Whernside (736 metres), Ingleborough (723 metres) and Pen-Y-Gent (694 metres) in one day. That’s a round trip of 24 miles (38.6km) and an ascent of 1585 ft (5,200 ft).

We were exhausted just typing those numbers so please donate to Anthony, Jonny, Sam, Andy and Luis to encourage them on their way!
